In 2019, David Largent, his wife, Charlotte Largent, and partner Dustin Roberts opened Big O Tires at 6985 Old Meridian Road in Falcon. On Sept. 27, the Largents and the long-time manager of the original location, Matt Helberg, opened a second location at Woodmen and Marksheffel roads in front of the Woodmen Valley Church. A grand opening celebration is planned for Oct. 14.Big O Tire offers tire service and repairs, wheel alignments and suspension and front-end services. They also offer routine auto services such as oil changes, lube and filters; brake repairs; and batteries.Customer service is important to Largent; he said it begins with company culture. ìWe work really hard,î Largent said. ìWe have a culture thatís based around our people. It starts with how we treat our employees and also the people in the community. We are constantly looking at ways to better serve our employees, community and customers. We believe that if we have the best facility and best place to work, the people will work. We pay full benefits ó medical, dental, vision.îLargent said he likes to hire veterans and high school students and graduates. ìWeíve got some good programs where people can start with us, get trained into a career of tires or automotive and mechanics,î he said. ìWe try to provide the best training, and look for a career path for all of our employees so they have something they can work on for growth within the company. I started out as a tire technician sweeping floors and worked my way up. Iíve performed every position and became district manager and then owner. My partner, Matt, started as a manager with us and now is a partner and owner of this next company.îLargent was born and raised in Fountain, Colorado. Largent said he and his wife, who graduated from Falcon High School, were high school sweethearts and recently celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary. Both worked for Big O Tires for 20 years before purchasing their franchise. The Largents and their two children live in Falcon and are involved in the community. ìWe are true believers in taking care of the kids and getting a good foundation for them,î Largent said. Along with supporting D 49 football teams, the Big O is a food pantry drop-off location for Woodmen Valley Church. Largent said it is important to him that he is able to help community members who may have fallen on hard times and are in need of automotive services.Overall, Largent said that growth in the area is mainly positive. ìItís bringing more opportunities, especially for kids. Itís all wonderful things, just a little bit of growing pains.îBig O Tires is open Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Saturdays, from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Appointments can be made by phone or on the website.
