Falcon Family Eye Care moved in mid-May to a new building at 7415 Firehouse View in Peyton. Amanda Walls, O.D. and owner of the clinic, said she has been wanting to expand for a few years and finally found the land where she could build the new clinic. The new location has four exam rooms and updated technology.
Walls said the new building has increased space for displaying glass frames that patients can select. She said they have new equipment that can cut lenses on-site. “Instead of shipping orders away and waiting a week, we can provide frames and lenses within a couple hours to a day,” Walls said.
The clinic will continue to offer full-service optometry, including glaucoma and diabetic eye exams, specialty contact lens fittings and macular degeneration and cataract checks.
Walls has owned Falcon Family Eye Care since 2013. She purchased the business from the previous owner who owned it since 2005.
Kate Barton, O.D., has been an optometrist at the clinic for four years. Walls said the larger space allows them to serve more patients and add a new optometrist. Hunter Sneller, O.D. will be joining the clinic soon.
Walls said the new building has a warm and caring environment. “We want patients to feel cared for from the minute they walk in the door,” she said. “We have a specific spot for kids and we want families, including our many military families, to know that they can always bring their kids in.”
A local muralist, Gregg Deal, designed and painted a mural on the back wall that has an hombre style backlit of each one of the Colorado fourteeners. “We wanted the theme to have some Colorado elements. I love to hike and climb mountains; all four of our exam rooms are named after fourteeners in Colorado,” she said.
Walls and her husband live in Colorado Springs with their two young children. She said her children have often accompanied her to the office over the years; the patients recognize them and ask about them. She said she loves Colorado and has no plans to move. “I’m going to be here forever,” Walls said.
Falcon Family Eye Care’s staff have all moved to the new location, she said. “Patients can expect to see the same friendly faces here.”
The clinic is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. David Bisbee, D.O., serves patients about two Saturdays a month.
