Wildlife Masters in El Paso County

Deer munching the freshly planted garden, a skunk nesting underneath the deck and a squirrel taking up residence in the attic can be frustrating to homeowners (although the wildlife was most likely the original inhabitant of the property). To keep peace between humans and wildlife, the El Paso County Wildlife Masters, sponsored by the Colorado State University Cooperative Extension in El Paso County, are available to answer questions on how to deal with wildlife issues. The team has received special training on solving common conflicts that harass homeowners and gardeners in the region, according to the news release. They’ve addressed issues related to deer, woodpeckers, skunks, pocket gophers, voles, prairie dogs, raccoons, pigeons, starlings and rabbits.”The Wildlife Masters Program is an outreach of CSU, which provides research-based information for the homeowner on controlling many of the conflicts experienced while gardening or living in the Pikes Peak region.”Call the Master Gardener help desk at 636-8921 for more information.
