Ron Kole began his new role as the director of public communications for El Paso County on March 13.Kole moved to the area from Spokane, Wash., where he served as public information and communications manager for Spokane County. He provided internal and external communications assistance for more than 30 departments and the county commissioners in Spokane.”I am looking forward to the opportunity to help increase and improve communications internally and externally for El Paso County,” Kole said. “I hope my experience in public relations and governmental communication will be helpful to both citizens and employees of the county and enable them to better understand the diverse programs offered to the community.”Prior to Spokane, Kole was the communications and community relations manager for Marin County in San Rafael, Calif.”Mr. Kole’s extensive communications background will provide the county with an increased ability to reach out to citizens,” said commissioner Sallie Clark. In addition, the board of county commissioners’ commitment to our recently established Citizen Outreach Group will be fostered by his skills and education.”
