If you could live anywhere in the United States, where would it be? A warm and sunny place? A big metropolitan city? Or a city that blends the hometown atmosphere with a progressive, modern outlook?The latter is how Money magazine’s No. 5 choice of the “100 Best Places to Live” in the U.S. describes itself on its Web site. And guess where it is? Louisville, Colo. Many people had not heard of Louisville before its recent claim to fame. Louisville Chamber of Commerce President Dr. Joel Frey said the town has received a bit more recognition since the article was published. He wasn’t surprised at the No. 5 spot. “It didn’t surprise me that we ranked so high,” he said. There is a “wonderful community aspect here.”Louisville, nestled between Denver and Boulder, has a population of 19,600. In addition to the Web site boasting of plentiful sunshine, clean air and no crowds, Money magazine reported that Louisville ranked highest in the jobs and economy category as well as arts and leisure. Fry said the city offers job availability in diverse areas. “It’s not an accident we were ranked No. 5,” he said.All of the 100 best places to live were ranked on the above two categories plus the town’s crime rate and education opportunities.How would Falcon/Peyton residents rank this area? “What do you like best about living here” was our “Streetwise” question of the month.
