If it’s one thing that is constant, it’s change. The New Falcon Herald is no exception. Here we are, making another change. But change for the better is a good thing. As you know, I assumed the coordinating editor duties last fall. What a learning experience it’s been. I learned that we should never be afraid to go down a new path. I also learned that sometimes a new path is not the straightest one to peace of mind.I’ve decided to veer off the path that I’ve been on as coordinating editor. Perhaps the main reason is the exact reason that Marylou Doehrman left her position – I do not live in Falcon. I believe that we really need a strong presence in Falcon – someone who can be the eyes and ears of the newspaper. On that note, I am transferring my duties as the coordinating editor to Stefani Wiest. We are very excited that Stefani has agreed to take over this position. Stefani has been with the paper for three years, and she has lived in Falcon for four years. Stefani has a degree in journalism and is a great writer. She is a team player and a person we can trust to be on the “front lines.”I’m not going away. I will still be on the NFH team – just behind the scenes working more on the “business” end of the business. Thanks to Michelle for her support and faith in me. And thanks to the writing team who are true professionals. Stefani, Angie Morlan, Kathy Hare, Kathy Wallace and Alicia Littlejohn have been with the newspaper for a long time – Alicia since the beginning. Our new writers – Fleur Bradley, Natalie Gowen and Judi Tobias – have more recently come on board and have been outstanding additions to the team. And thanks to Jeff Hansen, our faithful designer, for his patience with me as I learned the ropes. And to Marylou Doehrman who has been in the background guiding me along the way. This team supported me completely from the very beginning, making my transition appear seamless. Now it’s time for a party. For the advertisers and other folks who have supported our paper for the last five years, be sure to RSVP for our customer appreciation event April 24. The Flying W Wranglers are entertaining and now it appears that Michelle is making ME do the cooking! We hope to see you all there.– Deb and the NFH Team
