We are chock full of information in this NFH issue. In addition to the usual “stuff” like in-depth articles on issues and happenings in Falcon and our regular columns, we bring you our annual section highlighting the graduating seniors from Falcon High School. We want to wish Ashley Fay a special congratulations as she leaves her sports writing job with us to move on to college. Ashley has handed off the torch, so to speak, but she’ll be back with a travel article this summer. Read her column for more information on her future plans. Thanks, Ashley, for helping us out this past year. Ashley is blessed – she is beautiful and smart, and we know she’ll go far in life. Good luck from all of us.Well, by the time you read this, the incorporation vote will be over – what will we talk about in Falcon? No matter the results, Falcon is a super community, with lots of great people. In this business, we have the opportunity to witness the many people who help to better the community and bring the people together. Some of them are never formally recognized: Bev and Nick Ordon come to mind, as they continue to bring services and activities to the seniors of Falcon. Our own Kathy Hare has tirelessly protected our water sources as a member and officer of the Upper Black Squirrel Groundwater Basin Board of Directors. Falcon’s firefighters are not only skilled and dedicated, they’re also fun and community minded. Jean Woolsey has established much needed options for our neighbors in Falcon who need extra help. We know there are many more people doing lots of good things in our community. The service clubs that have cropped up in the last couple of years have already achieved wonderful goals. Thanks to all of you.One more thing: We missed Memorial Day because of our distribution schedule. However, it’s never too late to thank our servicemen and servicewomen and their families for their sacrifices. And everyday we remember those who have lost their lives for our country. That’s it for now. See you June 16. Wishing you a summer without snow …– Michelle, Marylou and the team
