Just a few words on the incorporation vote, which is, as of this publication, scheduled Tuesday, May 29. This issue is our last prior to the vote. We encourage those who can vote to do so. We’ve taken a stand against this incorporation effort – only because of the secrecy behind the incorporation efforts and the lack of consistent information.A hearing will take place May 18 (see News Briefs) regarding the boundaries, and the county also has intervened, because of the boundaries that obviously include county roads, with the incorporation effort. We will keep you informed via our Web site. We will add up-to-the-minute news on our Web site on the incorporation effort from the date of this publication through May 29. Be sure and visit www.newfalconherald.com for continued updates. As always, we’ll try to bring you an in depth look at the results, after the fact, in our June 2 edition. The incorporation issue may be the topic-of-the-day in Falcon, but business goes on. We are happy to announce that weíve added three new people to our team.Becky Weis has joined the NFH as a writer. She will assist Kathleen Wallace with covering School District 49 news, and sheíll cover other news around town as well. Becky said she is looking forward to being involved in the community. She and her husband and two sons live in Falcon. Also, weíd like to welcome two new D 49 student reporters to our team. Ashley Faye will soon be bidding us farewell, as she ventures off to college this fall to pursue a degree in journalism. Nicole McNames and Amanda Aldrich will replace Ashley ñ team tagging it for D 49 sports. Nicole will be a senior at Falcon High School this fall, and Amanda will be a junior. As a junior, Nicole worked on the school newspaper. Both Nicole and Amanda are interested in a journalism career, and we look forward to working with them.Itís obvious that Falcon is growing. Weíve had many responses to our advertisement for an additional writer. We could be adding more freelancers to our team as Falcon grows, and we move ahead. As always, we are grateful to our core team ñ many have been with us since Day 1.Have a safe and happy Memorial Day weekend.See you June 2.-– Michelle, Marylou and the team
