El Paso County employees Dick Anderwald, development services director; Sarah Tresouthick, planning review manager; Ron Kole, public communications director; Salena DiMatteo, internal auditor; and Kathy Harrison, assistant auditor, were laid off Jan. 10.The auditing department was abolished. Dennis Hisey, chairman of the board of county commissioners said the county will outsource its audits, according to a Gazette report. Hisey also said the employees were laid off to save the county money. They were given two weeks paid leave.
