Minutes before we went to press, the NFH received word that the D 49 school board chose Steven Hull, from Oregon, as the new superintendent of Falcon School District 49. We’ll try to get an interview with Steven Hull for our June issue.A reception was held on April 21 introducing the five finalists for the District 49 superintendent position. Interim Superintendent Ron Wynn is among them. The others competing for the top job are Terry Bishop, the deputy superintendent and chief information officer of Colorado Springs School District 11; Steven Hull, superintendent of Bethel School District in Eugene, Ore.; Gary Matthews, superindendent of Carroll Independent School District in Grapevine, Texas; and Larry Shumway, superintendent of Tooele County School District in Tooele, Utah.Twenty-four applicants vied for the position.Note: Gary Matthews is not pictured here – he was unable to make the April reception.
