Exchange Club lights up the holidays

Angel treesThe Exchange Clubís Angel Trees program brought in more than 500 gifts for foster children from The Hope and Home Organization. Ursula Miller, chairwoman of the clubís child abuse prevention committee, said the response from the community was ìoverwhelming.î The committee gathered the gifts and delivered them to the organization.The club would like to thank the following businesses that participated as collection sites: In Falcon: The State Bank; the US Bank in Safeway; Rock Solid Chiropractic Clinic; the Antler Creek View Inn; and, in Colorado Springs: Olive Garden at Citadel Crossing, I-Hop restaurants, the Senior Advisory Group on Rangewood and Dublin and American Insurance Exchange Inc.Rocky Mountain KidsMiller also presented two large bags of newly purchased hats, gloves and scarves to Felice Liquori, co-director of Rocky Mountain Kids Inc. Eleven girls and 19 boys live in their licensed group homes. The children have been removed from their homes because of abuse or neglect. The Exchange Clubís national objective is child abuse prevention. If anyone is interested in learning more about the committee or helping out, contact Miller at 719-495-1535.Helping Hands food pantryProceeds from the Exchange Clubís fall craft fair, chaired by club member Rose Mizer, went to High Plains Helping Hands food pantry. Because of volunteer efforts, shoppers and more than 80 artisans; Mizer, also the director of Helping Hands, received a check for the pantry for $5,978.
