In most parts of the country, people talk about springtime in May. Not so much in Colorado. Around here, we think of June as the time when spring really starts – and spring turns into summer in a blink of an eye. It’s when the tulips are bursting out of the ground and we finally burst out our doors to enjoy the beautiful weather.June is when we reconnect with our neighbors. All winter, we greeted one another with a wave while bundled up in our winter garb, working our shovels and snow blowers.Almost like a new year, June is a time for fresh starts – the flowers are popping up, the grass is turning green, couples are getting married and kids are outdoors playing. It seems fitting that in our June issue, we highlight some of the new businesses that have opened their doors in Falcon over the last few months. There are many of them and many more to come. Growth in Falcon is not new but always welcome. Also fitting is that our newest writer, Lindsey Harrison, wrote the stories about those businesses. Lindsey joined us in May and brings strong writing skills with her. Lindsey obtained her degree in sociology from Colorado College; and, in her spare time, raises three children at home. Welcome Lindsey!June is also the month to celebrate fathers. We’d like to say happy Father’s Day to the NFH dads – Bill Sinclair, Tom Preble, Don Josleyn, John Barrette, Vince McConnell and Dean Maurry.Enjoy our Colorado spring/summer, and we’ll see you in July!Deb, Michelle and the NFH Team
