The boy’s February basketball “Athlete of the Month” is 16-year-old, 6 feet 2 inch junior, Kendall Godley, son of Ronnie and Valise Godley. Kendall has been playing basketball most of his life and is the point guard on his Falcon team. This is his first year playing full time for the varsity. He has a younger brother Kameron, an older brother Ronnie, and Tammy, an older sister. The requirements for “Athlete of the Month” are not about scoring the most points or garnering the most rebounds. The athletes must play consistently and do the necessary things to help their team win. The point guard needs to see the whole floor, bring the ball down, control the offense and get the other players involved in the game. Kendall does all this quite well for his age. I was surprised when his father told me that Kendall was only 16. Congratulations Kendall for being our “Athlete of the Month.”
