We are currently in the process of sending subscription renewal notices. We are happy to say that circulation continues to grow. We can’t keep enough papers on the stands around town! Thank you for continuing your subscriptions. With the subscription renewal forms, many of you have sent notes with words of encouragement and positive comments about the NFH. Please know that we want to hear from you at any time by phone, mail or e-mail. Your comments and suggestions are important to us. Most importantly, you are the eyes and ears of the community, and we count on you to let us know when there are issues to be covered. In this issue, Kathy Hare’s review of Tom Brokaw’s “Boom” might just make you want to run out and purchase the book if you haven’t already. Kathleen Wallace has brought light to the very controversial dirt bike park slated for the Corral Bluffs area, and Stefani Wiest tries to untangle the bureaucracy involved in starting and/or expanding a business in El Paso County. On a lighter note, you may enjoy Angie Morlan’s “interview” with Junior at CMH Liquor; Junior has lead quite an interesting life. Chandra Bartlett introduces us to a local celebrity, pro barrel racer Diann Bukowski. This issue brings us two new writers, Fleur Bradley and Judi Tobias. You will see more new writers in the future as The NFH continues to grow.As Douglas Bruce moves to his new position as representative for Colorado House District 15, we want to say good luck. We appreciate Bruce’s consistent voice in the NFH in his efforts to keep the community informed. We hope our new commissioner will continue the tradition.– Deb, Michelle and the NFH Team
