Vacancy on D 49 board

Following the resignation of board member Danielle Lindorf, the Falcon School District 49 Board of Education is accepting applications to fill the position.Stephanie Meredith, D 49 public relations officer, said application packets are available at the district office at 10850 E. Woodmen Road.Meredith said applications will be accepted until Aug. 11. The board will interview prospective candidates at a public meeting Aug. 18 and announce their selection at a public meeting scheduled for Sept. 1.Tammy Harold, D 49 board member, is heading up the selection process. “The board wanted this process to be open and transparent to the public,” she said.”All four of us have different opinions about a good replacement. A few things we do agree on that would benefit the board and district is someone that understands school financing, has been active in the school district and can be open-minded about the issues brought before the board.”


Application packet informationThe D 49 board application packets are available from Loretta Branham, administrative assistant to the board, at the Education Services Center at 10850 E. Woodmen Road in Falcon. The packets include a letter of interest, an affidavit of school director candidate qualifications, a candidate questionnaire, a resume and a list of three references. Application packets must be received in the office of Loretta Branham by 4 p.m. Aug. 11.To be considered for the appointment, candidates must be eligible voters and have lived in D 49 for at least 12 consecutive months prior to the appointment.
