The Board of Directors of the Pikes Peak Area Council of Governments is seeking public comments on the draft “FY 2010 – FY 2017 Transportation Improvement Program.” The public is asked to submit comments to PPACG staff before Sept. 1. To review the draft FY 2010 – FY 2017 TIP, visit www.ppacg.org and click the link under “News.”One of the primary responsibilities of PPACG, as the region’s metropolitan planning organization, is the development of a regional transportation improvement program. The draft FY 2010 – FY 2017 TIP contains more than 65 transportation projects for which federal financial assistance in the federal fiscal year 2010 through fiscal year 2017 is being sought. All state, local, and privately funded transportation projects that are expected to be completed within this time period and that have a regionally significant impact on air quality are also included. The draft FY 2010 – FY 2017 TIP identifies prioritized projects from the 2035 Regional Transportation Plan that are to be implemented during the next four years (FY 2010 through FY 2013). The draft FY 2010 – FY 2017 TIP is fiscally constrained, meaning total annual project costs do not exceed anticipated revenues. The draft FY 2010 – FY 2017 TIP is consistent with the timeline of the Colorado Department of Transportation’s new state transportation improvement program. This public notice also serves as public notice for the Federal Transit Administration sections 5307, 5309, 5310, 5311, 5313, and 5317 programs projects. If no comments are received, this will serve as the final notice of FTA projects referenced.Again: The public may review the draft FY 2010 – FY 2017 TIP at www.ppacg.org; click the link under “News.” The public is asked to submit comments to PPACG staff before Sept. 1.
