Thanksgiving is always the fourth Thursday in November, and this year it falls on Nov. 22. As most people plan to stuff their bellies with turkey, stuffing and mashed potatoes; they probably don’t know that Thanksgiving holds more significance than the coming together of the Pilgrims and the Indians. Thanksgiving also is known as “Start your own Country Day.”Four people shared their thoughts on starting their own country. What would they name it? What about the first real law – what would it be? Our four respondents were creative and focused on peace and kindness – and one beloved pet! Here’s what they had to say.
Samantha Hoffstetter FalconI would name my country “Freedomland,” and there would be no fighting allowed. If you fight with someone else, you’re out!
Zach Reeser FalconMy country would be named “Snowland,” and there would be no fighting.
Hope Glidewell Colorado SpringsI would call my country “Kittyland,” and the capitol would be Buckyville (named after her own cat – Bucky). And my first law would be that there are no dogs allowed.
Ella Turner Colorado SpringsThe name of my country would be “Colorado United American World,” and the first rule I would make is that if you see somebody who is hurt, you have to run over there and help them.
