In November, the Emergency Medical Services Association of Colorado and the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment presented American Medical Response of the Pikes Peak Region (El Paso County) with the Colorado Ambulance Service of the Year Award. The award is based on leadership in patient care, medical control, quality assurance, public education, public access and training and education. AMR has been servicing Colorado Springs and the county since 1979. Currently, AMR provides 911 ambulance services for El Paso County. †AMR employs more than 250 EMTs, paramedics, dispatchers and support staff.†Last year, AMR responded to almost 70,000 calls that resulted in more than 40,000 transports to area hospitals and health care facilities.
