So far, a great football season

The Falcon School District 49 football season is shaping up to be a good one, with two teams currently (at the time of this writing) 4-0 and the other at a respectable 2-2. The Falcon Falcons, Sand Creek Scorpions and Vista Ridge Wolves all have hopes of winning the 4a Pikes Peak League championship. With early undefeated records, both Falcon and Sand Creek hope to set their sights a bit higher with a Division 4a state title. Falcon, which has one of the two 4-0 records in Pikes Peak, is running their way through with an almost unstoppable rushing attack, led by senior star running back Kalen Ballage, who is the No. 1 ranked player in Colorado, according to Rivals.com. He has rushed 58 times for 816 yards and averages 204 yards per game. Sand Creek, the other 4-0 team in the league, uses more of a balanced attack, thanks to multi-dimensional quarterback Michael DeCarmo, who overall has 301 yards per game on average through the air and on the ground.Vista Ridge, which is 2-2 on the year, is relying on youth more than the other two teams, with sophomore quarterback Elway Tubbs taking control of the offense. Tubbs has had his ups and downs this year, which isnít unusual for a sophomore starter. He currently has a 293.7-yard-per-game average. The D 49 football teams are exciting and well on their way to a standout season.
