Friends of Falcon is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the Falcon area and preserving its unique identity. One way the organization does that is by publicizing issues affecting Falcon area residents and encouraging them to submit comments to help shape the outcomes. Most recently, Friends of Falcon notified members that El Paso County recently updated the 2040 Major Transportation Corridors Plan to a 2045 version and released the completed draft for citizen comment. The plan outlines changes to several roads in the Falcon area that will improve safety and traffic flow, but might also result in increased traffic. Thanks to the raised awareness, those who might not have known about the plan had the opportunity to make their voices heard. The comment period closed on Jan. 31, but MTCP is an important document that will help guide future transportation updates.
