El Burrito Grande, Falcon’s newest Mexican Restaurant, recently opened in the Safeway shopping center. Owned and operated by Lupe Martin, the quick service restaurant offers burritos, nachos, tacos and a host of other Mexican food standards.Martin, a Falcon resident, said she worked 22 years in the fast food industry, opening stores for Carl’s Jr. and Jack in the Box. This is her first time opening her own restaurant.Martin has been happy with the initial response. “I’m really surprised how it’s spread word of mouth. People come in all the time and say ‘my friend told me I had to come in.'”The menu features dishes made from authentic Mexican recipes passed down from Martin’s mother and grandmother.”Our salsa and beans are made fresh,” Martin said. She said the burritos and nachos are their most popular dishes.El Burrito Grande offers a daily lunch special – $5.99 for a burrito or nachos and a soft drink, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. They are open Monday through Friday 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. They are located at 7653 McLaughlin Road in Falcon.
