Madisonís original guardian passed away so she is in a foster home under Wild Blue Animal Rescue and Sanctuary until she can find a ìfurreverî home. Madison is a beautiful, friendly kitty at ease with new friends. She loves human company, lap time and having her chin and neck rubbed.Madison is 7 years old and has excellent manners. She is also good with children and probably would be OK with dogs.Adopt Madison for a fee of $75, which includes testing for FeLV/FIV, vaccines, microchip and spaying. Contact Wild Blue at 719-964-8905 to adopt Madison.Wild Blue receives grant for feral catsWild Blue Animal Rescue and Sanctuary recently received a $4,000 grant from the Best Friends Animal Society, based in Utah, to lead a six-month trap-neuter-return coalition project called The Fix Is On! The project will focus on spaying and neutering 200 feral cats outside Colorado Springs city limits. The operation will primarily focus on the 80908, 80911, 80915, 80917, 80926 and 80831 zip codes. The term feral (or wild) cat refers to cats living in an outdoor colony with multiple other cats and very little human interaction. Some people refer to them as alley cats. ìFeral cats are a man-made problem,î said Lauri Cross, executive director of Wild Blue. ìThe problem begins with irresponsible cat guardians who for one reason or the other dump their intact pet cats outside to roam around breeding and creating more cats.î
