Honey, Tea & Me adds a teahouse next door

Shawndell Sievert, owner of the Honey, Tea & Me store in Black Forest, has opened Tea House in the Trees right next door to her shop (in the old Meadery building).The tea house can seat about 10 people, who can choose from a variety of teas. Sievert said they have about 30 teas available, along with homemade scones and muffins made by Sievert.Specialty tea drinks will eventually be available, too. Of course, all of the honey used for tea is from the shop.If all goes well, in January, the kitchen at the tea house will be in service, and they will be able to serve a light breakfast and lunch. Sievert has plenty of experience in the food industry, having worked with her parentsí mobile catering business. ìMy parents ran hot trucks, and we went to construction sites,î she said. ìWe could feed 300 people in 10 minutes.îThe hours at the tea house vary: Sievert said they are experimenting with early evening hours on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, when they open at 8 a.m. and serve until 8 p.m. On Wednesday and Sunday, the tea house is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. They are closed Mondays and Tuesdays.Visit the Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/honeyteame/.
