Thank you to the entire editorial team; I appreciate all that you contribute to the NFH.Itís an unsteady world right now, and Mark Stoller addresses the Ukraine situation from a different perspective in his column, Markís Meanderings, this month. There are millions of dollars being sent to Ukraine from all over the world. If you are searching for a charitable organization to donate to Ukraine, stick with reputable charities like the American National Red Cross, the International Rescue Committee, Unicef. A couple of years ago, Forbes did a study of the best 100 charities worldwide: check out the website at https://www.forbes.com/lists/top-charities/?sh=3c0473685f50.Also, be sure to check out Charity Navigators at https://www.charitynavigator.org. This organization rates charities and has a slew of information on donating. For example, they say giving money does the most good. From charity.org: ìIn reality, money is the most effective gift. A monetary donation allows the charities working on the ground to quickly purchase the supplies they need to address the ever-changing needs of those affected.îAnd while children and adults are the primary focus, donít forget the animals. Hundreds of pets and stray animals have been left behind in Ukraine, and their own humane societies/shelters are in need of food and other supplies. Many of the shelter workers have said they will not leave the animals, and some of those shelters are under fire from the Russians. The International Fund for Animal Welfare and Humane Society International are solid organizations.Whether for people or animals, if you are donating through social media, make sure a reputable organization is asking for your money.Despite the craziness going on in this world, we will celebrate Easter on April 17 and Earth Day on April 22.Happy Easter and Happy Planet!See you in May.– Michelle
