A community-based newspaper is the eyes and ears to what’s going on in your neighborhood. As a local newspaper, The New Falcon Herald delves into issues and provides access to resources that affect you and your area. It’s neighborhood news. The NFH has the unique opportunity to serve a community with not only local news stories, features about local events, columns written by professionals from local businesses and agencies and profiles featuring local residents; but we also publish details about a variety of local resources. These resources can help keep your pulse on the community. As you browse through this issue of the NFH, take notice of meeting announcements, scheduled seminars, public notices and civic and community group information. In every issue, the NFH publishes a community calendar chock full of upcoming neighborhood events. The “Pick A Card …” section, found at the back of the paper, features local businesses and services. Browse through the advertisements. You will likely find just what you were looking for – a bank, church, restaurant, health care or insurance services, retail establishments and more. The classifieds also feature community information, such as property for sale, employment opportunities and professional services. The best part: It’s all local information.A community-based newspaper is a voice that informs, educates and takes on an active role in reporting news in your neighborhood. The NFH will continue to be that voice for Falcon and eastern El Paso County.– Stefani, Michelle and the NFH team
