First, we wanted to recognize Connie Lindsey of Falcon. Connie’s raffle ticket was the winning ticket at The New Falcon Herald’s raffle at the Falcon Festival. Connie won a $50 gift certificate to any store in Falcon. She chose Frankie’s Too for a little R & R, she said.It’s tough to keep up with growth these days, but we can assure you we are out there beating the streets looking for the next new business. It’s wild how much Falcon has grown in the last few years. No matter the increased commercial and growing rooftops, the community can maintain whatever character fits the fancy of the residents.The time is now to decide the future of Falcon. Check out the article on the new committee that will make recommendations to update the Falcon/Peyton development plan. You, too, can participate. Watch for continued information about how to do so.And a new organization is forming – FAIR – Falcon Area Issues Roundtable. The first meeting is July 21 – see “Community Calendar” for details. Attend the meeting and meet your neighbors and help FAIR focus on whatever you’d like to see addressed in Falcon. It’s your community.We’ve added a new column – E! in Falcon – an entertainment column that we hope grows with Falcon. Perhaps you don’t need to drive all the way to Colorado Springs for a bit of nightlife.Also this month we are featuring a two-part series on recycling. We plan to bring you “green news” regularly.And check out Ashley Faye’s travel article on Lebanon. The usual nightly newscast doesn’t feature the side of Lebanon that is beautiful and very inviting.Don’t forget to send in your comments and letters to the editor.
