Shane Woodard of Elbert, received the Elizabeth J. Larimore and Sadie P. Mathews Scholarship Community of Learners Scholarship from the University of North Dakota for the 2008-09 academic year. Woodard, son of Vickie and Jaimie Michaels, graduated from Falcon High School and plans to attend UND in the fall.The Elizabeth J. Larimore and Sadie P. Mathews Scholarship is awarded to students chosen for past academic performance. Elizabeth Larimore was one of the earliest settlers of the Larimore, N.D. area. Her sister, Sadie, graduated from UND in 1900.The Community of Learners Scholarship is awarded to high school seniors who have shown exemplary achievement in both high school GPA and in test scores. This scholarship program is intended to honor and reward students who contribute to enhancing UND as vibrant and connected learners.
