The Falcon Incorporation Committee is gearing up to release the finalized incorporation details to the public. The FIC has been working on the proposed town of Falcon boundaries, a budget and a charter.Regarding the final boundaries, Thomas Cline, FIC moderator said, “The reason why we chose this size is because we know we will have enough money to run this size.”We want to get it on the books and then if people are interested, we can expand.”The FIC also finalized the preliminary town budget with a proposed sales tax of 1.6 percent. No property tax will be imposed. He said the sales tax in Colorado Springs is 2.4 percent. The FIC is now working to complete the town charter, Cline said. “There are some really innovative ideas in the charter. Things governments haven’t tried before that they should have.”He said a public meeting would be scheduled soon to review details of the incorporation progress.”We need to get people interested in getting this on the ballot,” Cline said. For more information, contact Cline at 683-5755.
