The Exchange Club of Falcon continues to grow with three additional members: Kimberleigh Solberg, Raymond Hayes and Nancy Hayes. The new members bring the total membership to 19, one short of the required 20 necessary to apply for a charter from the National Exchange Club.In anticipation of the charter, the club is moving forward with committees. Leading the effort in the Prevention of Child Abuse Program is chairman Robert Miller and co-chairman Pedro Gonzales. The Community Service Program is chaired by Dale Misner and Americanism will be chaired by Andrew Conder. The Youth Committee chair is still available, but expected to be filled at the Nov. 7 meeting.Committee projects will be implemented throughout the coming year. The first project, a co-sponsorship effort with the Exchange Club of Colorado Springs, is the dedication of a Freedom Shrine in the Falcon Middle School on Nov. 9 at 2 p.m. The shrine is comprised of 32 plaques of historical documents in American history, beginning with the Mayflower Compact to the Susan B. Anthony Trial.The club continues to meet on the first and third Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Woodman Hills Recreation Center West. Coffee and lemonade are provided.
