Falcon High Schoolís soccer team lost to Discovery Canyon Sept. 24, making it their eighth straight loss. With only seven games left, their record has nearly eliminated them from any type of end of the year tournament.The FHS softball team, however, is riding a wave of momentum after beating an always tough Air Academy team by a score of 3-1, improving their streak of wins to three in a row; the team is one game below a .500 record. With just three games left, the team will try to finish the season strong and possibly make some noise in the league standings.Vista Ridge High Schoolís girlsí softball team just completed their season with a loss to Palmer Ridge. The team finished with a disappointing 7-11 record.Vistaís volleyball team is 5-10, with seven games left.On Sept. 19, Sand Creek junior varsity baseball team pulled off a stunning come-from-behind victory against Cheyenne Mountain. The Sand Creek Scorpions were down 15-10 in the bottom of the fifth, when the team exploded for 11 runs in the inning. Asked if she ever thought the game was going to end, Meghan Brunnemer said, ìOf course not. Itís not over until the last out is made.îSand Creekís varsity team fell to 126th in the state and a 3-11 record. The main culprit is the lackluster .221 batting average, and only 41 runs batted in through the first 15 game put up by the Scorpions. If these numbers continue, it spells nothing but trouble.Itís a different story, however, for Sand Creekís soccer team. They rank at No. 16 in the state.Sand Creekís volleyball team has lost eight of their first nine games of the season. The No. 1 ranked team in the state is Lewis Palmer.
