D 49 distributes mini-grants

The Falcon Education Foundation presented $15,500 in grants to 24 teachers in School District 49 at the Nov. 8 D 49 board meeting.The Falcon Education Foundation is a nonprofit organization comprised of the business community, parents, teachers, school administrators and D 49 residents. The foundation was created nine years ago to raise money for projects that fall outside mainstream school funding.This year, the foundation received 50 grant applications totaling $39,000. With the funding they had, 21 applications were approved.Foundation members Dawn White and Kevin Ray presented the awards to the following:
