In August, the Calhan Lions Club teamed with Wal-Mart and assisted 100 children from eastern El Paso County with their school needs. Volunteers shopped with the children individually and purchased $75 worth of school appropriate clothing. Each child also received a school backpack filled with school supplies.This is the third year the Calhan club has participated in the KidSpree program. Children from the Calhan, Peyton, Falcon, Ellicott, Simla and Miami-Yoder school districts benefited.
