The old Rudyís Roadhouse at 6750 Shoup Road has a new name and a new owner. Beauís Roadhouse opened its doors in early 2015.ìWe have a full menu and a full bar,î said Beau Lee, owner. ìWe bought the restaurant so the locals could have some place to go and not have to go all the way into town.îLee is retired military, and he and his wife have lived in Black Forest for more than 10 years, he said. ìIíve never done anything like this before in my life, but we thought it would be neat to own a bar and restaurant one day, so when the opportunity came, we said letís do it and now here we are,î Lee said.Known for their half-pound burgers, Lee said Beauís Roadhouse also sells plenty of its ìbroastedî chicken. ìIt is basically pressurized deep-fried chicken,î he said. ìIt seals in the juice without absorbing as much oil as just deep-frying it. Itís a Midwest thing.îBeauís Roadhouse is open every day at 11 a.m. for lunch. They close at 10 p.m. on weeknights and midnight on weekends; however, the kitchen usually closes at 9 p.m. But, on occasion, Lee said the kitchen will stay open longer to accommodate customers.
