The El Paso County Board of Commissioners have approved construction easements and warranty deeds necessary for the preliminary work on the Baptist-Hodgen roads connection project. When complete, 1.25 miles of two-lane paved roadways will connect Baptist and Hodgen roads, creating an east-west thoroughfare along with bicycle paths on the paved shoulders.Construction is expected to begin after 2010. URS Corporation has been awarded the design contract. This project will be funded through the voter-approved Pikes Peak Rural Transportation Authority and is expected to cost $13.4 million.
