The Young Guns program of the Dane R. Balcon Post 2008 of the Colorado American Legion just completed its first class. The three students were taught gun safety, proper handling and complete instruction on multiple shooting positions using air rifles. The National Rifle Association made the program possible through a grant to Post 2008 that supplied air rifles and other training equipment. Members of Post 2008, who are NRA certified instructors and range officers, taught the class. The training program is designed for youth ages 8 to18. The next class is tentatively scheduled for April.
