Thanks to everyone who responded to last month’s question about the NFH distribution methods. We asked our readers to tell us if they would support a subscription mailing as opposed to what we have been doing for the last year – sending the newspaper to an original selection of 3,300 people at no charge. We heard back from about 10 of our readers, and all but one said they were willing to pay the $18 per year subscription cost.We also heard from those same respondents that a bi-monthly newspaper would be favorable. Here’s the deal: We are going to keep everything as is for at least another six months. The NFH is still fresh enough that we don’t want to make any changes too soon. When we decide to go to a subscription mailer, we will notify you weeks in advance. We would love to be able to bring you the NFH twice a month, so we are looking at that option perhaps by the year’s end. There is a lot that needs to be put in place before we do that, so we’ll keep you informed of our progress. On to other business: We are looking at another new health column to start in April. The folks at Falcon Physical Therapy are interested in writing a question/answer column each month. You would supply the question, and they would supply the answer. You would simply mail the question to the NFH, and your answer would be included in the next month’s edition. The questions could range from anything concerning your aches and pains to sports-related issues to nutrition. We also will continue our column by Falcon chiropractor, Dr. Fran Palmer.By the way, how do you get an agenda for county planning meetings? Because we are monthly, we can’t bring you the latest information on planning agendas. However, every month we will publish the county’s Web site address and direct you where to go so you can be aware of the agendas and when the meetings take place. See Web site information below. We also received a phone call last month from a couple people who were not happy that the Douglas Bruce town forum was announced in the NFH the day the newspaper was delivered. Some missed the forum, which was held in the morning, because they received their newspaper in the mail in the afternoon. We only published that announcement as a courtesy to Mr. Bruce and as a last-ditch effort to notify those who might get the paper earlier. When we distributed our paper the previous month, we didn’t know about the forum. Because we are monthly, we are not always able to get you that information on time. However, we are thinking about creating a Web site information center that you can review all month long and get updates to your monthly NFH news. So stay tuned.Last, we’d like to introduce you to a new sales representative, Kelli Walker. She will be transitioning into Deb Stumpf’s position, as Deb is assuming additional roles with the NFH. Deb will be introducing Kelli to the business owners in Falcon and surrounding area. We welcome Kelli to our team of writers, designers, sales reps, distribution people and family who make this newspaper a Falcon happening every month. As always, we thank you for your support and continued feedback. Keep those ideas and suggestions coming! Happy St. Patrick’s Day!Michelle & MarylouCOUNTY WEB SITE INFORMATION:www.elpasoco.comFor information on planning commission agendas, go to www.elpaso.com.Enter planning commission and key in month, where there is a listing of upcoming land and housing development plans before the planning commission.CORRECTION FROM LAST MONTH:Our apologies to Caroline Jerman, the owner of Curves in Falcon and Calhan. Throughout our Falcon Limelight story last month, we misspelled Jerman, using GERMAN. We hate it when that happens, and again please accept our apologies.
