Acting El Paso County Attorney William Louis was chosen from 22 applicants to maintain his position permanently. Louis has served as the acting county attorney since Mike Lucas left earlier this year. He has been an assistant El Paso County attorney since 1997. Louis graduated from the University of Missouri School of Law in 1991, and, prior to joining El Paso County, he had been a deputy district attorney in Colorado’s 10th judicial district.
