July 4 usually signifies the height of summer, and, from then on, the remaining days of summer are bolts of lightning in the measure of time.Summer comes and goes as fast as a Colorado thunderstorm. It is hard to believe that we are distributing our seventh edition of the NFH, and we have grown from a 4-page newsletter to a 32-page newspaper. As they say, “We’ve hit the ground running.”We are grateful for our readers and everyone’s support of this community newspaper. We are growing. We have added two more sales representatives, and we are contracting with writers. We have welcomed new Falcon-based businesspersons/columnists, who are sharing their expertise with us in the areas of finance, health, technology and animals. We have secured our Internet domain name – newfalconherald.com, and a local Falcon resident, Kathleen Wallace, is developing our Web site, which should be up and running in a few weeks. It is an exciting time as publishers of the newspaper; however, although we like growth – we are businesspeople, too, and we know that remaining focused and true to our No. 1 goal – a quality product – is most important. We are in the newspaper business, and, when the time is right and the readers are ready, the advertisers say “yes” and the news coverage is sufficient, we will look at taking the NFH to a semi-monthly and eventually a weekly publication. Falcon continues to grow, and we will grow with the flow. For now, we do not want to get too big for our britches. You let us know when you are ready for more, too. Stay engaged with us; send an e-mail about other topics you would like to see discussed. Meanwhile, have a safe and happy Fourth of July, and look for the NFH again on July 31.
