Kids say the darndest things

When my niece was a student, her class of 6-year-olds sang ìHark, the Herald Angels Singî at a Christmas concert. The line ìGod and sinners reconciledî was a tricky one for this age group. One little boy, with a voice that completely drowned out the rest of the choir, happily belted out, ìGod and sinners dressed in style!î- Jessie Robertson, Williams Lake, B.C.On a drive home from visiting family over the holidays, my children and I stopped off at a corner store. The cashier turned to my 4-year-old daughter and asked, ìWas Santa good tíya?î My 5-year-old son, not used to the Ottawa Valley accent, piped up, ìHer nameís not Tia.î- Trista Fennell, Peterborough, OntarioOn a flight to Mexico for Christmas vacation, I watched my 4-year-old son, Max, stare intently out the airplane window. We had just taken off and were passing through some big white clouds. Max looked concerned and I wondered what he might be thinking about. Suddenly, his eyes lit up and a big smile came across his face. He announced loudly, ìMom! I know why weíre not getting anywhere ó weíre stuck in all this snow!î- Kara Wilson, Calgary, Alberta
