When deputies asked for his driverís license, he struggled to remove his wallet from his back pants pocket. Then, Stevens handed the deputy a Florida ID card and said he had never had a driverís license. Deputies then observed an open bottle of liquor in a brown paper bag sitting next to Stevens, and they could smell alcohol on his breath.ìIím feeling pretty good,î Stevens told deputies. He also volunteered that the liquor in the bag was a bottle of Jim Beam. However, Stevens said he never drank while driving. Instead, he only drank when the car was at stop signs and red lights.
