Diane Marie GardunoJanuary 13, 1969 – November 21, 2017Diane Garduno passed away unexpectedly in a motor vehicle accident on November 21, 2017, in Colorado Springs, Colorado at the age of 48. Diane, was born into an Air Force family on January 13, 1969, in Duluth, Minnesota to Phil and Dodie Bonemeyer. While her father was stationed in Germany she started her higher education at the University of Maryland, Munich Campus. She continued her education while getting her Bachelors from University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, and then graduated from Adams State with a Masterís Degree for Curriculum and Instruction. She married LeeAndro, her soulmate, in 1994. Shortly after moving to Falcon, Colorado, Diane began working for the Ellicott School District as a teacher. She worked there for eighteen years, advancing to Middle School Principal. Diane welcomed and was instantly devoted to help raise her husbandsí two young children. Over time, together they welcomed three more children, growing into a family of seven. Her children remember her as a dedicated, loving, helpful, strong, smart mother who encouraged them to set and pursue their goals.Diane truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; chatting with friends and family, gardening, baking, pickling, and investing in the people of the Ellicott community. She especially enjoyed visiting her family all over the country, creating memories and exploring new places. Diane had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way. Her family and friends will always be thankful for the gift that was her life.Diane, is survived by her parents, Phil and Dodie Bonemeyer of Alamosa, Colorado; husband, LeeAndro Garduno; sons, LeeAndro (Cassandra) Garduno, and Joshua Garduno; daughters, Rachel (Mack) Gralund, Angelina Garduno, and Miranda Garduno; grandson, Gabriel Garduno; granddaughters, Caitlyn Garduno,and Evelyn Gralund; sister, Rae Anne (Dan) McLennan of Cypress, Texas; brother, Michael (Angela) Bonemeyer of Monte Vista, Colorado; mother-in-law, Pauline Garduno; as well as many aunts, uncles, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.She is preceded in death by her father-in-law, Manuel Garduno of Colorado Springs, Colorado.Services were held. She is survived by her father, Brian Gaston; her mother, Judith Gaston; two brothers, Jeffery Gaston and Brian Edward Gaston; and a sister, Laramie Lynn. Services were held.Dixie Ray SmithDixie Ray Smith died Nov. 21, 2017 in Monument, Colorado, where he was a longtime resident.He was born Aug. 26, 1932, to Cecil and Esther (Sweet) Smith in Blackwell, Texas.Dixie worked in forest service management and served in the U.S. Marines. He is survived by two sons, Michael (Paula) Smith, and Marc Smith; daughter, Toria (Scott) McGill; brother, Cecil (Verla) Smith; three grandsons, Dylan McGill, Ian McGill, and Michael Smith; two granddaughters, Courtney Smith and Mackenzie McGill; and three and ìa halfî great-grandchildren,He is preceded in death by his wife, Loma.A memorial service was held in November.George F. ScottGeorge F. Scott, age 66, died on Dec. 9, 2017, at a local hospital following a long illness. He retired from the United States Marine Corps as a career flight line mechanic. He was also very active in the local Salvation Army for many years.George Friedrich Scott was born on Sept. 13, 1951, in Germany and raised by the late John and Lieselotte (Sheel) Scott. After high school, he married and raised a family. He loved motorcycles and serving God and the Salvation Army in many capacities.He is survived by his fiancÈ, Sharon LaRocco of Colorado Springs; his two stepdaughters, Bonnie (Brad) Gore of Winchester, California, and Tammy Duggan of Temecula, California. He has five grandchildren: Kristina (Mitchel Fontes) Tudela, Clayton Gore, Trevor (Marcella Magama) Duggan, Cory Gore and Brandon Gore.
