Providence Point EstatesThe El Paso County Board of County Commissioners approved the partial release of $19,276.90 for grading and erosion control in the Providence Point Estates subdivision. The property is located south of Hodgen Road and west of Farrar Drive, and is within the Black Forest Preservation Plan area.Falcon School District 49The BOCC approved the ratification of a grant application submitted by Falcon School District 49 and Stetson Elementary School for a Great Outdoors Colorado School Yard Initiative grant to construct a new and improved play yard at the school. GOCO requires that school districts partner with either a city or county to apply for the grant, and D 49 requested a partnership with EPC. The district is requesting $110,000 in grant support, and is providing $63,150, bringing the project budget total to $173,150. D 49 did not ask for financial support from the county, and the county is not required to provide a financial match for the grant application.D 49 held a public meeting at the Falcon Middle School Feb. 1 to present information about the new elementary school that will be built near the existing middle school. The district is currently in the design phase of the project with CRP Architects PC in Colorado Springs, and anticipates the start of construction on the facility in early 2018.Meridian Ranch Filing No. 9The commissioners approved the application for preliminary acceptance of certain streets within Meridian Ranch Filing No. 9 into the countyís road maintenance system. The public improvements to the subdivision have been completed and inspected, bringing the total miles of county-maintained roads from 2177.79 to 2179.35 miles.The county also approved the final release of bond money for this subdivision for $1,333,633.74, representing 80 percent completion of the total public improvements for Filing No. 9. The county will retain $234,139.74 as a defect warranty for a two-year period, and will release the balance of these funds upon successful completion of the public improvements.Meridian Ranch Estates Filing No. 3The BOCC approved the final release of bond money for public improvements to Meridian Ranch Estates Filing No. 3 for $356,440.00. All improvements have been completed and inspected.The commissioners also approved the final release of bond money for erosion control in the subdivision for $18,025.00. All improvements have been completed and inspected.Paint Brush Hills Filing No. 13DThe BOCC unanimously approved a request by Lorson LLC Nominee and Lorson North Development Corp. for approval of the final plat for Paint Brush Hills Filing No. 13D. The plan creates 97 single-family residential lots on the property northwest of Falcon Middle School and north of Londonderry Drive.Waterbury Filing No. 1The commissioners approved a request by 4 Way Ranch Joint Venture LLC for approval of the final plat for Waterbury Filing No. 1. The plan creates 67 single-family residential lots on the property zoned as planned unit development. The site is on the north side of Stapleton Drive about one-third of a mile northwest of the Stapleton Drive and Highway 24 intersection and about two-thirds of a mile east of the Stapleton Drive and Eastonville Road intersection. The property is located within the Falcon/Peyton Small Area Master Plan.Falcon Health CenterThe old Southern Maid Donut storefront, located at 11605 Meridian Market View, Suite 190, will soon be the new Falcon Health Center for family medicine and urgent care. The center will be part of the University of Colorado Health network of facilities. Cary Vogrin, media relations coordinator for U.C. Health, said the facilityís target open date is Feb. 21. The clinic will be staffed with one physician and three physicianís assistants.
