June 20: Scott Stratton struck it rich in Cripple Creek, Colo., in 1891. He was a Colorado Springs successful businessman, leader and philanthropist. He left his fortune to establish a home for the poor, naming it after his father. The Myron Stratton Home opened in 1913 and continues today. The exhibit commemorates Strattonís mining empire, and the opening includes a lecture by Mark Turk, executive director of the Myron Stratton Home. The event is free, but reservations are required.
