The Eastern Plains Chamber recycling event held in the Wal-Mart parking lot on Sept. 18 raised about $2,000 to help fund a future community park to be located next to the new Falcon fire station. About 4,460 pounds of electronic waste, 150 tires, 50 pounds of batteries and light bulbs and 15 sets of ink cartridges were collected for recycling. The Falcon fire department came out to volunteer for the day, along with many area businesses.
