The Woodmen Hills Metropolitan District was awarded the 2009 Water System of the Year Award by the Colorado Rural Water Association. The WHMD was nominated by the Colorado State Health Department based on the quality of basic operations, cleanliness and staff knowledge. WHMD also had no water quality violations in 2009.CRWA is a nonprofit corporation that provides technical assistance and training to Colorado’s public and private water and wastewater systems having populations of less than 10,000. There are about 2,000 water systems throughout the state that serve 10,000 homes or less.
