It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s a balloon?

Landing a hot air balloon in Falcon can be tricky. There are those wires, with great landing sites on either side of them. You also have to watch the sky for other flying objects. Finally, you have to make sure to land without harming any trees – because Falcon residents can get really upset if anything comes close to their trees! But Dave Bair, owner of Second Chance, made it all look easy! “I usually fly in the southern part of the county,” he said. But the overcast conditions there on April 17 made him and Linda Littlejohn head straight toward the blue skies of Falcon. He landed on the end of Owl Place, a convenient spot to rendezvous with his road crew, who arrived within minutes to help pack up the balloon.
