Since the July 31 groundbreaking of the new Falcon Fire Protection District station, completion of the 13,500 square foot facility is under way. The fire station will be located at the intersection of Stapleton Road and Meridian Ranch Boulevard. The $1.6 million station is expected to be completed by March 1, 2010 and will be the primary response station for the district. According to a FFPD press release, the new station is expected to improve response times to the district’s more populated areas that also generate the highest call volumes. The administrative functions and district fleet maintenance will remain in the current headquarter facilities.
