You are the guy who’ll decide where to go.” – Dr. SeussSoon, graduation gowns will be worn and caps tossed overhead by local high school seniors. This signifies a time of growth and recognition for students who have persevered through more than a decade of education. It seems like only a couple of issues ago that The New Falcon Herald recognized the 2007-2008 graduating classes from Falcon High School and Sand Creek High School. Well, it’s already that time of year again. In this issue, an additional high school is featured – Patriot Learning Center. Be sure to browse the special graduation section for photos and congratulatory notes to all D 49 graduating seniors, as well as information throughout the paper about seniors who make a difference in our community.Summer also marks the time when a rush of high school students hunt for summer jobs. With the shaky economy and high unemployment rate, high school students are not the only demographic seeking summer employment. Kathleen Wallace reports on a shift of job seekers during this time of economic uncertainty.Also, Vince McConnell features local high school coaches who have dedicated their time and energy to coaching local athletes. With the high school sports season drawing to a close, Vinnie Mac Sports Corner will be back next fall after a summer hiatus.Congratulations to the Falcon School District 49 senior graduates.
