Update: The Falcon Lion’s Club served breakfast and lunch for participants at the Falcon Festival (see photos of the festival). Proceeds benefited the Falcon Fire Protection District and the local kids program.International Lion’s Club operates the Rocky Mountain Eye Bank, one of the largest in the nation, which is located in Colorado. The eye bank is celebrating its 25th year of service. The director of the board of directors for the eye bank spoke at the June 26 dinner meeting.Future monthly programs include updates from the International Lion’s Club and Falcon School District 49.In August, the club will start the kids’ sight screening program for all preschoolers in Falcon. District 49 and home schooled preschoolers will be targeted for the screening. The Lion’s Club goal is to uncover potential sight issues before they become major problems.Also, the Falcon Lion’s Club in conjunction with the Calhan Lion’s Club will be selling environmentally friendly light bulbs during the El Paso County Fair. Dinner is served so reservations are required.Business meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month at The State Bank.
