This year, we held the bike rodeo during classes so we could get as many kids to participate as possible. We had the parents bring the bikes to school that day to help us as a teaching aid. We also invited guest speaker Al Brody from the Memorial Hospital/Colorado Springs Cycle Coalition to discuss why it is important to wear the proper safety equipment while riding a bike.Memorial Hospital’s Kelly Romp made a huge donation of 60 bike helmets that we gave out to the kids who did not own one. All helmets were taken. I would like to express my gratitude to the staff of Memorial Hospital for donating the supplies and helping me organize this event.The Falcon fire department and its personnel have a strong sense of pride and respect for our community and find it imperative that we provide the best service possible to such a great community.
